Here’s another one to consider, it is a full 2 ¼” thick, not like those skimpy 1” thick ones that may be annoying if you have long hair as it will take forever to go through long hair with something that thin.  This evaporates all water on your hair while it’s being used so it decreases your styling time.  It takes 30 seconds to heat this thing up and it can reach up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

The only issue with this is that if you don’t grab enough hair it can feel like it snags your hair due to the way the plates are located in the center.  With other straighteners, the plats run over the edges/sides so it’s one complete smooth surface.

Other than that, this works great, it really straightens out wet hair.  One reviewer mentions it does a great job of it on her African American hair as well.  Try using a straightening cream along with this for really smooth results.
